Cross-County Rivalry Produces an Exciting Tuesday in OHC Baseball and Softball
In an early season battle between OHC South baseball rivals, Northeastern gets the best of Southeastern. It was a pitching duel between two of the top pitchers in the league. Wes Earles had ten strikeouts for Southeastern, while going 2 for 2 from the plate in the loss. Meanwhile, Aaron Phillips had 13 strikeouts for Northeastern, as the Jets shutout the Trojans 2-0 to take a .5 game lead in the OHC South.
It was a different story on the softball diamond, as the Southeastern softball team stays perfect on the season after defeating Northeastern 3-2 in an 8-inning battle. Southeastern Freshman, Avery Shepherd, hit a solo homerun in the top of the 8th inning to seal the victory for the Trojans, who are now 6-0 on the season, and 4-0 in the OHC.
